1. TECHNOLOGY FOR THERMAL HARDENING OF STEEL TOOL WITH THE GOAL OF INCREASING ITS SERVICE DURABILITY

The creation of the technology to increase the service durability of tools made from carbon steel and alloyed steel is proposed.
The project provides working out the heat treatment technology, cooling medium and devices for hardening different tools (on instruction of customer) and working out parameters of special treatment using untraditional solutions
The proposed technology can assure hardening large-size stamp cubes using a method of partial immersion or bathing in a water based medium, that it is impossible to execute in oil.
2. DIFFERENTIATED HEAT TREATMENT OF MAIN WAYS RAILSAND SWITCH RAILS

The equipment and key parameters of technology for the differentiated hardening with use of induction heating steels of various chemical composition, which provides manufacture with high-strength rails and switch rails, are suggested. Such development is caused by increase of dynamic loadings at the main railways and necessity to increase the operational life of products for a railway transport.The gradient structures in various sections of switch rails along the full lenght are obtained. This microstructure assures the best combination of surface hargness and impact toughness of metal.
New quenching installation and computer complex for control of heat treatment rails and switch rails with automatic control system of temperature and speed of heating and cooling is offered.
