Scientific activity.
His research interests are in the field of solid mechanics, mathematical, computer and experimental modeling and optimal design of load-bearing elements of constructions, aimed, in particular, to ensure the strength, reliability and choice of optimal parameters of the power structures of rocket and space technology.
He has developed methods and algorithms reduce the consumption of materials, experimental study of the effect of damage to the bearing capacity of thin-walled structures, computer modeling of corrosion wear, biomechanical problems and others.
Known to his realized design unique design power sculpture «Planet of Alfred Nobel» (Sicheslavskaya the embankment of the Dnipro) and the big urban rotating Christmas tree (park them. Globa, city of the Dnipro).
He has over 350 publications, including 11 monographs and textbooks, more than 160 scientific articles and 20 inventions. He has presentations at more than 100 international conferences.
He is a member of the National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Society of fracture mechanics, deputy chairman of the section «Mechanics» of the expert council of MES of Ukraine on Science and Technology, the scientific secretary of the section «Problems in Mechanics» Pridneprovsk Scientific Center of NAS of Ukraine, the scientific secretary of the doctoral dissertation council on the mechanics of DNU named after O. Honchar. He is the editor in chief of two specialized scientific journals, a member of editorial boards, organizing committees of the conferences, academic councils, opponent of many dissertation and others.
He has the honorary title «Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine», an award «Excellence in Education of Ukraine», certificate of honor of MES of Ukraine,
an award «For support of science» of International Fund «Alfred Nobel Planet», the honorary medal «For merits in front of the Dnipro », «Academician Vladimir Mossakovskii», «For faithful service DNU», a gold medal «For Achievements» of the Ukrainian Academy of social progress and creativity and other differences.
