In 1951 S.N. Kozhevnikov the Currier became member-corresponder of the Academies of the sciences of Ukraine and has organized work of the Dnepropetrovsk scientific seminar on theories of the mechanisms and machines since that time overgrown in branch of the All-union seminar on TMM. The Themes of the working seminar has formed the fundamental problems of the theories of heavy metallurgical and mining machines.

Generalising results of the working seminar, S.N. Kozhevnikov, Y.I. Esipenko and Y.M. Raskin have prepared and published encyclopedic book "Mechanisms" translated on several languages and was frequently published overseas.

In 1967 for development and broad implementation in industry of the number of mechanisms of periodic action group of scientists with S.N. Kozhevnikov as its head was awarded State prize of the USSR in the field of sciences and technology.
