The main place in the study of the pulpit occupies the questions of increasing of reliability, longevity of the details and mechanical nodes, lifting-transport equipment of metallurgical industry, their unification and modernization.

Assistant professor V.P. Esaulov - a specialist in the field of friction and wear-out, deformed hard body mechanics, having big pedagogical and organizing experience was elected as a manager of the pulpit in 1972.

In 1997 in coauthorship with A.I. Kozlovskim, A.T. Esaulovym and M.I. Staroseleckim was published book “Designs of railway wheels of the world”. In 2004 V.P. Esaulov and group of scientists was awarded the State prize of Ukraine in the field of sciences and technology.

Increased the volume of commercial research work on themes GKNT, Minchermeta USSR, Mincvetmeta USSR and SEV, managed by leading teachers of the pulpit. The Results of the studies were successfully introduced in production and gave significant economic effect.
