The Sakura Fest - 2026 festival has taken place! News icon

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, the traditional event — the festival-presentation of potential educational opportunities for prospective students, "Sakura-Fest 2026" — took place along the cherry blossom alley located on the grounds of the Dnipro Institute of Transport Infrastructure of USUST.
The festival is held at the end of April or the beginning of May each year and is a vibrant career-orientation event at our university. The spring of 2026 was no exception. Each of our university's institutes did its best to present itself to future applicants and their parents.
Representing the Department of International Economics, Management, and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines of the Dnipro Metallurgical Institute, Tetiana Lysenko and Mykola Myronenko attended the event.
Interested applicants and their parents, slowly moving from one stand to another, had the opportunity to ask our department's representatives questions about possible educational offerings. They were most interested in the new specialty F4 — Systems Analysis and Data Science.
Modern information technologies are a key trend in the development of the national economy, which is why our future students are showing such interest. It is gratifying that our department is riding the crest of this rising wave.
The "Sakura-Fest 2026" festival was a success! We look forward to meeting our first-year students this September!

Excursion - quest for schoolchildren "Code of the future: man, metal, artificial intelligence"

On the initiative of the Department of International Economics, Management, and Social Sciences and Humanities, on April 28, 2026, a quest tour titled “Code of the Future: Man, Metal, Artificial Intelligence” was conducted for students of the municipal educational institution “Educational Complex No. 66”; Gymnasiums No. 73 and No. 79.
The main story of the quest was presented by Associate Professors Alisa Kramarenko and Tetiana Lysenko of the Department of International Economics, Management, and Social Sciences and Humanities: “Today you will witness two powerful forces: the unbridled energy of molten metal and the cold calculation of robots. But remember, it is humans who unite them to build civilization. Your goal is to prove that you are capable of mastering both elements using your own intellect.”

Alisa Kramarenko begins a discussion with the students about the main legend of the quest

The first stop was the cybermetallurgy lab (Department of Production Process Automation). The students learned about the operation of mini-manipulators and models of modern automation equipment.
The department chair, Associate Professor Maria Rybachenko, gave a very interesting presentation about the department’s curriculum. She demonstrated mini-models of product packaging, a modern “smart home” model, and more.

Scientific Achievements of the Department: New Scopus Publication for 2026

The faculty of the Department of International Economics, Management, and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (USUST) continues to strengthen its position in the global scientific community. We are pleased to announce the publication of a new scientific article in the prestigious peer-reviewed journal "Scientific Bulletin of National Mining University" (No. 2, 2026), which is indexed in the international scientometric database Scopus.

The publication, titled "Process approach to regional labor market formation in post-war recovery" (DOI: 10.33271/nvngu/2026-2/206), was prepared by PhD, Associate Professor T. V. Miroshnichenko and PhD, Professor D. Ye. Kozenkov in collaboration with colleagues from the "Dnipropetrovsk Academy of Continuing Education". As part of the research, the scientists justified the application of a process-oriented approach to the development of the regional labor market during Ukraine's post-war recovery.

During the testing of the results, the authors conducted a pilot assessment of the Dnipropetrovsk region's labor market as of 2025. To facilitate systemic reform of the sector, a three-stage recovery model was proposed: stabilization, reconstruction, and modernization. This work represents a significant contribution to the development of the national school of management, as its findings can be utilized by government authorities for strategic planning and labor market diagnostics during the period of post-war transformation.

We congratulate Associate Professor T. V. Miroshnichenko, Professor D. Ye. Kozenkov, and their co-authors on achieving this high scientific result!

Easter Light for Unbreakable Hearts: An Initiative of Gratitude and Unity News icon

Easter is a celebration of life’s victory over death, light over darkness, and the profound hope that unites millions of people. This year, for every Ukrainian, this holiday carries a special, poignant significance. It is a time when we keenly feel the value of our peaceful dawn and the importance of supporting those who have become a living shield in defense of our statehood.

The faculty of the Department of International Economics, Management, and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, with particular trepidation and a sense of responsibility, supported the initiative of the rector of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology (UDST), to collect “Easter baskets of sweets” for severely wounded soldiers undergoing treatment at the I.I. Mechnikov Regional Clinical Hospital.

The Mechnikov Hospital has long been a symbol of resilience and professional excellence for Dnipro and all of Ukraine. Here, within these walls, where a daily battle is fought for every life, our defenders are on the hardest journey of all—the journey of recovery. That is why our desire to send them holiday treats is not just charity, but a profound expression of respect, love, and boundless gratitude.

Every package assembled by our department is filled not only with sweets but also with a piece of the warmth from our hearts. We understand that amid prolonged rehabilitation and the daily routine of the hospital, a festive atmosphere has healing power. Traditional Easter bread, fragrant sweets, and symbolic Easter gifts can momentarily restore a sense of home, reminding the soldiers that they are remembered and admired, and that the entire university family is waiting for their recovery.

Participation in such initiatives is an important part of our corporate and civic culture. At UDUNT, the education of students and academic activities always go hand in hand with patriotic service. The example set by our rector, Kostyantyn Sukhyi, has inspired us to act in a coordinated and prompt manner, because kindness knows no days off, and supporting the army is our shared duty.

We are convinced that these sweet gifts will help bring a festive mood to our heroes, strengthen their spirit, and give them faith that victory—both personal and national—will surely be ours. May the aroma of Easter baked goods and the heartfelt wishes accompanying this basket serve as a symbol to our defenders that all of Ukraine bows before their heroic deeds.

Today, more than ever, we feel the power of unity. Together, we are not just collecting aid—we are building a b ...

Educational Event at the City Library on Shevchenko Street News icon

An educational event took place at the city library on Shevchenko Street in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Mykola Myronenko — Candidate of Technical Sciences and Professor at the Department of International Economics, Management, and Social-Humanitarian Disciplines at the Dnipro Metallurgical Institute — delivered a lecture titled "Kostiantyn Bunin: A Portrait of a Scientist Against the Backdrop of an Era." (see https://www.facebook.com/share/1CYxFr4zFe/)

The event was dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the scientist's birth. For the occasion, the lecturer compiled a biobibliographic index of the scientific works of Kostiantyn Petrovych Bunin, a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. A copy was donated to the city library's collection, which was met with applause from those in attendance.

Mykola Andriiovych told the audience about the key milestones in the life of the metallurgist-scientist, highlighting the defining events of his scientific biography. The audience was particularly intrigued by the photographs illustrating the talk, including "trees" of the scholars from K.P. Bunin's scientific school from 1970 and 2010. The lecturer skillfully interspersed the narrative with references to significant events of the mid-20th century, which sparked additional interest among those present.

At the end of the lecture, a recording made sometime in the mid-1960s was played — the voice of the very subject of the event, Professor Kostiantyn Petrovych Bunin, who was talented at reading the poetry of contemporary poets. This journey across space and time created an unforgettable atmosphere and drew enthusiastic applause.

Finally, attendees had the opportunity to ask Mykola Myronenko questions about his work on the index, the process of gathering and analyzing information, and the ultimate purpose of all these extraordinary efforts. On the latter point, Mykola Andriiovych emphasized the need for a clear understanding of the role and place of scientist K.P. Bunin in the development of metallurgical science, particularly materials science. It is precisely through works like these that such positioning takes place and contributions are made to the history of science.

The importance of working on such indexes was also supported by Tetiana Ivanivna Herasiuta, Deputy Director of the city library and the event's host. She also shared an interesting fact from her years of study in Kharkiv: during one of her classes ...
